Nurse Practitioner Kelly Hudson joined the staff of The<br />
Good Samaritan Health Center in 2000 and follows a<br />
caseload of young adult to elderly patients, including<br />
well prenatal women through the 6th week of<br />
pregnancy. Because of their previous lack of access to<br />
health care, Kelly’s patients often have multiple acute<br />
and chronic health <strong>problem</strong>s that are out of control<br />
when she first sees them. She <strong>has</strong> followed some<br />
patients since she started working at GSHC 6 years<br />
ago. She is convinced that because of the rapport she<br />
<strong>has</strong> established <strong>with</strong> them and the continuity of care<br />
she provides, some of her patients have <strong>been</strong> able<br />
to make great strides toward improving their health<br />
status. Every staff member at GSHC is happy to be part<br />
of <strong>this</strong> ministry of <strong>compassion</strong>. Kelly thinks that patients<br />
value the smiles, <strong>compassion</strong>, gentle touches, prayers,<br />
and hugs that the staff freely dispense even more than<br />
the expert medical care they receive at GSHC. Kelly<br />
and her husband, Scott, have 2 children, Abigail<br />
and Benjamin.<br />
