Complete mixing is necessary. Thetemperature of the separate components prior to mixing is notcritical, but they should be close to room temperature.Mixing - Bulk: Combine Part A (resin) and Part B (hardener) inthe correct ratio and mix thoroughly until the color andconsistency are uniform. EPOXI-PATCH® Tube Kits have beendesigned so that squeezing EQUAL LENGTH BEADS of Part A& Part B will give proper ratio. Ratios given above can be usedfor measuring larger amounts. Mixing the adhesive just prior touse is recommended. Heat buildup during or after mixing isnormal. Do not mix quantities greater than two pounds asdangerous heat buildup can occur causing uncontrolleddecomposition of the mixed adhesive. Mixing smaller quantitieswill minimize the heat buildup.Application: Bonding surfaces should be clean and dry. Oncethe adhesive is applied, the bonded parts should be held incontact until the part has developed handling strength. It is notnecessary to clamp the parts unless movement during cure islikely.Cure: Complete cure is obtained after three days at roomtemperature. After 24 hours, approximately 90% of full cureproperties are attained. When in a bonded joint, Hysol 1C willachieve handling strength in 3-4 hours at 77°F (note: this canvary with different bond configurations). Hysol 1C can also becured with heat such as; 2 hours at 140°F, 1 hour at 180°F, or20-30 minutes at 250°F. Heat cures can be modified to achievea desired degree of cure from handling strength to full cure.Clean Up: It is important to remove excess adhesive from thework area and application equipment before it hardens. Manycommon solvents and citrus cleaners are suitable for removinguncured adhesive.Packaging4.0 oz.
