Government is in favour of timely promotions in services and the Department 

of Personnel & Training (DoPT) is constantly working on ways and means to 

overcome delay in providing various benefits to employees. This was stated

of ST population released 

Registrar General and Census Commissioner of India has published 

the 2011 Census data on the Marital Status of Scheduled Tribes persons 

for all States and Union Territories by age and sex, number of 

women, ever married women by present age, parity and total children 

ever born by sex, number of surviving children and total surviving 

children by sex, number of births last year by sex and birth order etc. 

Special Tables viz. ST7, ST1 1 on Scheduled Tribes reflect marital 

status by age and sex, ever married women by present age, Parity and 

total children ever born by sex etc. The ST12 table contains number 

of women and ever married women by present age, number of surviving 

children and total surviving children by sex. Table number13 

shows number of Women and currently married Women by present 

age, number of births by sex and birth order. 

The data released shows that among STs 4,67,00,848 people are married 

out of 10,45,45,716. The married persons constitute 44.7% of the 

total STs population. Percentage of widowed is 4.6% and separated is 

0.4%. The percentage of divorced constitute 0.2%. In comparison to 

2001 Census, the percentage of widowed, divorced, separated has 

increased in most of the age groups. More than half of the marriages 

have taken place in the age group of 2024. The percentage of marriage 

taken place in the above age group is 57.2%. The data also 

shows that for 72% of the STs female, the marriage age is above 18 

years. Total numbers of ever married Women has increased among all 

the ages. It increased remarkably in the states of Kerala, Karnataka, 

Goa, West Bengal and Assam. Total children ever born in all the ages 

have decreased in all the States / UTs. Total number of surviving children 

has increased in almost all the States /UTs in comparison to the 

corresponding figures of 2001 Census.

The National Small Industries Corporation Limited (NSIC) has fixed a target

of the www.msmeshopping.com portal includes online registration, web 

store management, popular products section, multi product cart, multiple payment 

options, customer support through Call Centre and enhanced security 

features. 

In addition, NSIC also assists MSMEs through MSME Global Mart Web 

Portal (www.msmemart.com), which provides an online platform for B2B 

marketing activities. The salient features of the portal includes interactive 

database of MSMEs, Global and National Tender Notices, self web development 

tool, centralized mail system, unlimited global trade leads, trust seal of 

NSIC, multiple language support, payment Gateway for membership subscription, 

etc. The portal has database of registered members looking for business 

opportunities, sustainable partnership, subcontracting and participation 

in Public Procurement. Government in the Ministry of Micro, Small and 

Medium Enterprises has taken several initiatives like Udyami Helpline, 

Online registration of MSMEs, Digital Employment Exchange, Virtual cluster, 

eoffice, etc. NSIC also organises defence exhibitions, MSME buyerseller 

meets, vendor development programs, MSME DEFEXPO and special vendor 

development programs to build a MSME database and facilitating supplies 

from MSMEs to obtain and execute defence orders. This information

become senior to them. This also affects pensionary benefits that they are entitled

with highly positive and proemployee approach and therefore, they have 

come to him with a great hope. Dr Jitendra Singh gave them a patient hearing 

and said that various demands and grievances put up by the Association will 

be placed for consideration at appropriate level. He said, the Modi 

Government is committed to provide ‘Maximum Governance with Minimum 

Government’ and has adopted several radical measures to simplify governance 

and provide a comfortable as well as workfriendly environment for

ABVP muscles into FTII 

row, wants strike to end 

PUNE: The Sangh Parivar's students' wing Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Pune, which has 

led several students' agitation and participated in college bandhs, on Saturday stood outside the Film and 

Television Institute of India's (FTII) gates demanding the students withdraw their strike. The ABVP 

members said tax payers' money was being wasted as there have been no classes for the last 44 days. Its 

leaders gave the FTII students and the administration a week and warned them of an intense agitation and 

plans to "start the classes themselves at the institute'' if they stuck to their protest. ABVP secretary Anand 

Purohit gave a memorandum to FTII director Prashant Pathrabe. It said, "The administration must facilitate 

regular classes with immediate effect keeping the right of the students to protest intact. ABVP, in 

the interest of common students and society, would protest if regular classes do not commence by the 

next week." Last week, Patit Pavan Sanghatana, also an RSSsupported organisation, had vandalised the 

art installation, a protest symbol, outside the FTII's gates. 

"Some FTII students want to resume classes and their careers should not be affected. We request the institute's 

director to ask the students to withdraw the strike and resume classes. If the students do not withdraw 

the strike, we will take action for classes to begin and the media will come to know what we do 

next. We want to mediate between the students and the government to help resolve the issue in the interest 

of the students," Pradip Gavade, joint secretary, ABVP, Pune, said.\ Senior inspector Pravin Chougle, 

incharge of the Deccan Gymkhana police station, said, "Around 35 ABVP activists had staged an agitation 

outside FTII around 1pm after obtaining permission from us. The agitation ended peacefully after 

the ABVP handed over two memoranda to the FTII director and the students' association." 

FDI in Aviation Sector 

The Government has permitted different limits of Foreign Direct Investment for different services in aviation 

sector. The following Airlines have been granted permission by Foreign Investment Promotion 

Board (FIPB) to have joint Venture with foreign Airlines: 

1. Jet Airways with Etihad Airways (foreign airline). 

2. Air Asia (India) Pvt. Ltd is joint venture of three Companies i.e. TATA Sons Ltd, Air Asia Berhad (foreign 

Airline) and Telestra Tradeplace Pvt. Ltd. 

3. TATASIA Airlines Ltd is joint venture of TATA Sons and Singapore Airlines (foreign airlines). 

The above three Airlines are operational at present. The Government has issued Aeronautical 

Information Circular (AIC) 12/2013 on Guidelines for foreign direct investment in aviation sector, which 

also includes preconditions for such investments and the same are available in public domain. This 

information was given by Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Dr. Mahesh Sharma in a written reply to 

a question in the Lok Sabha.
