Three ways to faster drying—the Models 157, 163 and 169When you’re ready to make hay, you may face arace against bad weather. A New Holland tedderhelps improve your odds. Tedding “fluffs” yourcrop by distributing it evenly to speed drying.Air flows through it, not just over it, so you canbale sooner—before it rains. And if showers hitunexpectedly, you can easily spread damp,matted-down crop for quick drying.The mounted Model 157 tedder fluffs a 8’6” swathand maneuvers easily around smaller fields. The lefthandrotor tine bar flips up for narrow 8’ transport.The Model 163 tedder features four rotors to cover an expanded 16’5”width, yet folds to a width of 9’6” tomaneuver easily through gates or narrow roadways.The Model 169 tedder is our largest model and uses six rotors to cover a wide 22’8” area.The two outer rotors on each side swing back for a narrow transport width of 9’8”.Digidrive couplings on New Holland teddersare virtually maintenance free. Workloadsare spread evenly over 12 intermeshing forgedand heat-treated fingers. The couplings offerhigh resistance to wear and eliminate openuniversal joints.

Bestof all, you don’t need tools toswitch from one operation toanother.As a tedder, the Model 255spreads swaths or windrows socrops dry down faster. You cantailor your tedding operations to avariety of crops and conditions byvarying PTO speed, or by varyingthe tine position. The fixed-tineposition provides aggressive teddingand is ideal for use in freshcutmaterial and crops where leafand shatter losses are not a concern.Withthe tines in the camoperatedposition, the tine barrollers follow the cam track to liftand release crop gently to savevaluable leaves.Switch to raking without toolsWith a few simple adjustments,you’re ready to rake a swath up to13 feet wide. The telescopingframe design lets you adjust rakingwidth from 10’6” to 13’ 1 1 ⁄ 2”.The precise raking action of the“255” produces fluffy, uniformwindrows that dry evenly. And,the “255” gives you extra maneuverability—theself-centeringwheels allow you to make sharpturns and back up easily withoutlifting the machine.Strong, rugged frame provides yearsof dependable performance.
