POSTERIOR LAMELLAR KERATOPLASTY- POSTOPERATIVE RESULTS AFTER MODIFICATION OFSURGICAL TECHNIQUE.A. Bielinska, E. Rakowska, D. Haszcz, T. ŻarnowskiDepartment of Ophthalmology, Lublin, PolandPurpose: Presentation of modified surgical technique and its impact on postoperative results.Methods: Too high flap misalignment and lack of adhesion in early postoperative period led tomodification of surgical treatment. Between January 2011 and June 2012 38 lamellar posteriorkeratoplasty were performed with changed technique. Charts of all patients were revised to analyzeresults.Results: Among 38 procedures performed 4 grafts needed refixation with air injection into anteriorchamber. Macular oedema, papillary block and persistent corneal erosion were postoperativecomplications. Postoperatively 39,5% of endothelial cell loss was observed within first 3 months,average ECC reached 1890 cells/mm2. Early failure appeared in 4 patients, in three penetratingkeratoplasty was performed, in the one case lamellar grafting was redone. BCVA in the follow-up was0,6 (0,01-0,9)Conclusions: In 89,5% of patients flap was properly fixated after modification of surgical technique.Concering endothelial cell loss, BCVA and complications satisfied postoperative results were achieved.XXV ANNUAL MEETING OF THE EUROPEAN EYE BANK ASSOCIATION Zagreb, Croatia 18/19 January 2013 43
