WHAT IS<br />

<strong>AIESEC</strong>?<br />

<strong>AIESEC</strong> is a global youth network impact<strong>in</strong>g the world<br />

through leadership development experiences. Present<br />

<strong>in</strong> over 126 countries and territories, and with over 86,<br />

000 members, <strong>AIESEC</strong> is the world's largest youth-run<br />

organisation.<br />

In a world where we face many different global<br />

challenges at different times, we believe the solution is<br />

to develop responsible and entrepreneurial young<br />

leaders today who will choose how the world will be<br />

like tomorrow.<br />

The way we do this is unlike anyone else <strong>in</strong> the world.<br />

We provide practical leadership experiences by liv<strong>in</strong>g<br />

and deliver<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>ternational exchange programs that<br />

develop leadership <strong>in</strong> others. In do<strong>in</strong>g so, young people<br />

fall. With 65 years of experience, <strong>AIESEC</strong> is committed to<br />

PROGRAM?<br />

The Global Leader program is a practical team<br />

experience that develops leadership abilities<br />

through runn<strong>in</strong>g a global organisation.<br />

In the program, you will first jo<strong>in</strong> <strong>AIESEC</strong> at your<br />

university campus as a team member, open<strong>in</strong>g up<br />

further opportunities to build your leadership<br />

journey.<br />

Global Leader provides you with valuable<br />

STUDENT DEVELOPMENT<br />

LEADERSHIP IN...<br />

Develop yourself whilst help<strong>in</strong>g develop others! The Student<br />

Development role allows you to work directly with students <strong>in</strong> order to<br />

provide them with development experiences. You will be:<br />

- Facilitat<strong>in</strong>g our global exchange programs,<br />

- Creat<strong>in</strong>g life-chang<strong>in</strong>g experiences for students, both locally, and<br />

globally,<br />

- Work<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> a team of like-m<strong>in</strong>ded <strong>in</strong>dividuals who are passionate<br />

about mak<strong>in</strong>g an impact on society,<br />

- Learn<strong>in</strong>g the practical and professional side of social change<br />

You may be <strong>in</strong>terested <strong>in</strong>: Outgo<strong>in</strong>g Exchange (oGIP and oGCDP)<br />

ORGANISATIONAL DEVELOPMENT<br />

Ga<strong>in</strong> practical skills <strong>in</strong> manag<strong>in</strong>g the <strong>in</strong>ternal processes of an organisation<br />

<strong>in</strong> order to support it's operations and ga<strong>in</strong> first hand experience<br />

support<strong>in</strong>g organisational capacity growth. In this role, you will can:<br />

- Ga<strong>in</strong> experience <strong>in</strong> the fields of HR, Market<strong>in</strong>g or F<strong>in</strong>ance,<br />

- Supplement theoretical knowledge with strategic <strong>in</strong>sights <strong>in</strong>to<br />

bus<strong>in</strong>ess operations and achieve organisational goals<br />

You may be <strong>in</strong>terested <strong>in</strong>: Talent Management, F<strong>in</strong>ance or Market<strong>in</strong>g<br />

EXTERNAL RELATIONS<br />

Build your bus<strong>in</strong>ess accumen by manag<strong>in</strong>g relations with our external<br />

stakeholders. Have the opportunity to engage with companies or faculties<br />

and provide them with bus<strong>in</strong>ess solutions, help<strong>in</strong>g <strong>AIESEC</strong> expand it's<br />

reach to amplify the organisation's impact. In this role, you will can:<br />

- Enhance your understand<strong>in</strong>g of companies and organisations<br />

- Develop a more entrepreneurial m<strong>in</strong>dset and <strong>in</strong>crease your network<strong>in</strong>g<br />

and sales skills<br />

You may be <strong>in</strong>terested <strong>in</strong>: Incom<strong>in</strong>g Exchange or Market<strong>in</strong>g


STUDENT DEVELOPMENT<br />

Outgo<strong>in</strong>g Community Development Program<br />

(oGCDP)<br />

Outgo<strong>in</strong>g Exchange Officers <strong>in</strong> this team facilitate and deliver<br />

<strong>AIESEC</strong>'s overseas volunteer program, provid<strong>in</strong>g students the<br />

opportunity to develop their leadership by volunteer<strong>in</strong>g abroad<br />

and mak<strong>in</strong>g a positive impact on overseas communities.<br />

oGCDP Officers will assess and recruit students with a volunteer<br />

program that suits their preferences, prepar<strong>in</strong>g them for an<br />

exchange experience of a lifetime. From the moment a student<br />

becomes <strong>in</strong>terested <strong>in</strong> the program, we assist them on a 1-on-1<br />

basis throughout the whole application process and predeparture<br />

prepation, until the student returns from home.<br />

Outgo<strong>in</strong>g Global Internship Program (oGIP)<br />

Outgo<strong>in</strong>g Exchange Officers <strong>in</strong> this team facilitate and deliver<br />

<strong>AIESEC</strong>'s professional <strong>in</strong>ternships and work placements for<br />

graduates and students, provid<strong>in</strong>g students the opportunity to<br />

develop their leadership through longer-term professional<br />

experiences <strong>in</strong> global workplaces.<br />

oGIP Officers will be primarily <strong>in</strong>volved with engagement and<br />

market<strong>in</strong>g events, work<strong>in</strong>g with university facilities and societies<br />

and help<strong>in</strong>g spread awareness of the program through oncampus<br />

<strong>in</strong>formation sessions. They will then assess and recruit<br />

students with an <strong>in</strong>ternship program that suits their preferences,<br />

help them with their applications, visas and accommodation<br />

whilst they are abroad.


ORGANISATIONAL DEVELOPMENT<br />

Market<strong>in</strong>g<br />

This is a dynamic team for the creative m<strong>in</strong>ds and <strong>in</strong>telligent<br />

strategists! Market<strong>in</strong>g Officers translate research and analysis<br />

<strong>in</strong>to campaigns that attract our student and corporate market.<br />

We ask outselves, how can we better reach our target markets,<br />

and pull their <strong>in</strong>terests towards <strong>AIESEC</strong>? As a member of this<br />

portfolio you will have the chance to create and execute<br />

market<strong>in</strong>g campaigns for our 3 programs: Global Leader, Global<br />

Talent and Global Citizen.<br />

Talent Management<br />

This team aims to strategically drive the Local Committee through<br />

its human resources. Talent Management Officers are directly<br />

responsible for the learn<strong>in</strong>g and development of members,<br />

through tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g, coach<strong>in</strong>g and track<strong>in</strong>g processes accord<strong>in</strong>g to<br />

the different engagement levels, needs and goals. You will be<br />

equipp<strong>in</strong>g members with the necessary skills to carry out their<br />

own role through tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g and rewards program. Jo<strong>in</strong> Talent<br />

Management if you are <strong>in</strong>terested <strong>in</strong> HR and<br />

develop<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>terpersonal skills, communications, talent plann<strong>in</strong>g,<br />

event management, and so much more!<br />

F<strong>in</strong>ance<br />

F<strong>in</strong>ance Officers are responsible for manag<strong>in</strong>g the f<strong>in</strong>ancial<br />

resources of our Local Commitee. They are also responsible for<br />

conduct<strong>in</strong>g f<strong>in</strong>ancial analysis and evluat<strong>in</strong>g the f<strong>in</strong>ancial health of<br />

the Committee, <strong>in</strong> order to manage and prevent liquidy issues.<br />

This team is highly strategic, requir<strong>in</strong>g crucial analysis of<br />

performance data to improve the <strong>in</strong>volvements and organisational<br />

goal achievements. They will engage <strong>in</strong> ROI analysis and promote<br />

susta<strong>in</strong>able f<strong>in</strong>ancial activity.


EXTERNAL RELATIONS<br />

Incom<strong>in</strong>g Global Internship Program (iGIP)<br />

The Incom<strong>in</strong>g Global Internship Program provides Australian<br />

bus<strong>in</strong>esses access to the global network of talented and<br />

passionate youth, who can add diversity and <strong>in</strong>novation to their<br />

organisation.<br />

The Incom<strong>in</strong>g Exchange Portfolio creates partnerships and<br />

develops relationships with external organisations and<br />

companies to provide placements where these global youth can<br />

offer their skills and services, while also develop<strong>in</strong>g responsible<br />

and entrepreneurial leadership <strong>in</strong> a global environment.<br />

Members as Bus<strong>in</strong>ess Development Officers, develop<br />

negotiation and communication skills to develop partnerships,<br />

as well as stakeholder and resource management skills to<br />

deliver exchange experiences.


OUR<br />

EXPECTATIONS<br />

As a member of <strong>AIESEC</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>RMIT</strong>, successful applicants will each have<br />

their roles and responsibilities with<strong>in</strong> the organisation. Different roles<br />

will have different responsibilities, but ultimately, each member is<br />

responsible for deliver<strong>in</strong>g their key responsibilitie and adhere to<br />

guidel<strong>in</strong>es <strong>in</strong> their respective portfolios to ensure operations run<br />

smoothly.<br />

TIME COMMITMENT<br />

There will be a handful of set times a week where attendance by<br />

members are required (other than functional work). They are as<br />

follows:<br />

Total Time Commitment: Approx. 10 hours per week, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g:<br />

- Weekly Local Committee Meet<strong>in</strong>gs: 2 hours per week (Wed, 5.30 -<br />

7.30pm)<br />

- Team Meet<strong>in</strong>gs: 1 hour per week<br />

- Functional Meet<strong>in</strong>g (if applicable): 1 hour per week<br />

- Engagement with <strong>AIESEC</strong> events throughout the year (variable)<br />

You are also expected to notify your Vice President of assessments,<br />

etc. <strong>in</strong> advance if you will be busy, so that they can adjust tasks<br />

accord<strong>in</strong>gly. Please be aware that your commitment is crucial to the<br />

organisation's operations be<strong>in</strong>g successful.<br />

INDUCTION CONFERENCE<br />

There will be a 3-day State Conference across the 14th - 16th of August.,<br />

where all the Local Chapters of <strong>AIESEC</strong> <strong>in</strong> VIC will come together (The<br />

University of Melbourne, <strong>RMIT</strong>, and Monash University). The conference<br />

will <strong>in</strong>duct you <strong>in</strong>to the organisation and equip you with the necessary<br />

skills and tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g as a member. It will be your first step <strong>in</strong>to utlisiz<strong>in</strong>g<br />

<strong>AIESEC</strong>'s International network of young leaders, start<strong>in</strong>g with the VIC<br />

region and progress<strong>in</strong>g beyond.

2. Assessment Centre and Interviews<br />

If successful, you will sit an Assessment Centre with other<br />

candidates and an <strong>in</strong>dividual <strong>in</strong>terview with your preferred<br />

portfolios Directors to determ<strong>in</strong>e organisational fit.<br />

You will be assessed on numerous criteria , <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g, but not<br />

limited to, global m<strong>in</strong>dset, entrepreneurial outlook, emotional<br />

<strong>in</strong>telligence, and proactive learn<strong>in</strong>g.<br />

If you are unsuccessful, you will be notified via email and are<br />

welcome to seek feedback.<br />

3. Induction<br />

If you are accepted, there will be a compulsory 3 day Induction<br />

Conference Camp where you will receive <strong>in</strong>itial tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> your role.<br />

It will also be a chance for you to meet other recruits from across<br />

VIctoria and those who you will be work<strong>in</strong>g with throughout the<br />

semester.<br />

24th July- Round 2 Membership Applications close (11.59 pm)<br />

29th July- First Local Committee Meet<strong>in</strong>g<br />

8-9th August - Induction and Tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g Sem<strong>in</strong>ar (TBC)<br />

14-16th August - Regional Induction Conference Camp
