Shiawase is not commonly known for its military production,
but they have managed to sell this particular vessel to the Imperial
Navy for nearly � � een years. � e Aohana is primarily geared toward
Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW), with fully out� tted vessels deploying
a variety of torpedoes and rocket-boosted weapons. � e frigate also
deploys with a helicopter or drone capable of increasing its detection
radius. Shiawase began selling this lighter-armed version to interested
buyers six years ago. Sales are not as robust as the corporation would
like, but the cra� is a useful supplement to the line’s Japanese orders.
