A dozen kobold defenders fought, but her breathweapon claimed most of them right away.When the PCs enter this area, read:Dark blotches cover the floor, walls, and ceiling. Brokenspears and broken kobold bodies lay where they fell.Perception CheckDC 15: The bodies were torn apart, but most alsobear terrible acid burns, the flesh having been eatenaway by a caustic agent.Area 6: SentriesFive kobold slingers watch the canyon from this position.If they spot the PCs or if they are attacked, theyrun to area 8 to warn the wyrmpriest, and then theymove to area 7 to make their stand.Optional: Kobold SentriesLevel 1 Encounter (XP 500)✦ 5 kobold slingers (level 1 artillery)If the PCs manage to get the jump on the koboldshere, they can prevent the sentries from sounding thealarm.Area 7: Vigilant Watchers(Level 5)Eleven kobolds (six skirmishers and five slingers)watch the canyon, positioned in groups at the threecave mouths. Otherwise, this room is emptybecause the wyrmpriest and four minions havemoved to area 9 to protect the dragon, while an additionalfour skirmishers and four minions have movedto attack the PCs elsewhere or to reinforce their alliesin area 7.When the PCs enter this area, read:A cooking fire burns in the center of this chamber, sendingup plumes of choking smoke that gather and crawl aboutthe ceiling.
