<strong>Key</strong> <strong>Stage</strong> 1 <strong>Class</strong> <strong>Teacher</strong><strong>Job</strong> <strong>Description</strong>Purpose of the postTo enhance the school’s vision which aims to nurture each pupil on their own journey ofself-discovery and is based upon the three key pillars of Educational Excellence, CharacterFormation and Spiritual Insight.To ensure effective and appropriate delivery of high quality teaching, learning and supportfor pupils, to ensure every pupil reaches their potential.To undertake the professional duties and responsibilities of a <strong>Teacher</strong>, as set out in thecurrent School <strong>Teacher</strong>s’ Pay and Conditions document and other relevant legislation.Main Responsibilities:To be responsible for setting up inclusive provision in Year 1; including Teaching & Learning,the learning environment, the curriculum, assessment and Faith Nurture.In addition to the Professional Standards for <strong>Teacher</strong>s, the post holder will be required toexercise his/her professional skills and judgement to carry out, in a collaborative manner,the professional duties set out below: -Planning, Teaching, <strong>Class</strong>room Management & Organisation To plan lessons and activities in line with National Curriculum subject guidelines, tocomplement varied school themes and which ensure appropriate challenge and highexpectation for all pupils To act as a role model for the ethos and core values of the school To deliver a broad and balanced curriculum in accordance with schools’ vision andethos Liaise with the Headteacher, Senior Management Team to assess, order and monitorrequired curriculum resources Differentiate lessons to support all pupils’ learning needs and plan interventions forSEN and AG + T pupils To communicate positively with Learning Assistants and other adults working withthe pupils Promote creativity and cross curricular activities enriching teaching and learning To ensure a stimulating, interactive experience for pupils, with pace, progression andcontinuity in all lessons To build successful relationships with pupils centred on learning and engage pupils intheir learning as active participants Manage the behaviour of pupils in line with the school’s behaviour policy Contribute to the corporate life of the school through effective participation inmeetings and events both inside & outside the schoolMonitoring, Assessment, Recording, Reporting:


Ensure that pupils experience an educational programme that is personalised to theirparticular needs identified through robust assessment procedures and processesAssess how well learning objectives have been achieved and use them to improvespecific aspects of teachingLiaise with other teachers, as necessary, to ensure consistency across the curriculumTo mark and give feedback on work set to ensure all pupils are aware of their nextsteps to learning and understand how they can continue to make progress.Complete assessment reports – weekly, termly, end of year etc as required by theschool for parents/carers, other professionals and pupilsEnsure that relevant attainment and achievement targets are met by all pupilsCurriculum Development:As a team member contribute to the development of the curriculumContribute to the whole school's development activitiesEvaluate the impact of improvement activities on the quality of teaching and learningGeneral Responsibilities: To read understand, and adhere to all the school’s policies and procedures Ensure compliance with the school’s Equal Opportunities Policy and take an activerole in promoting equality and diversity Support the school’s vision, mission, faith and ethos. Take proactive responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils Undertake and deliver training and professional development as appropriate to keepup to date with current developments Undertake other duties appropriate to the post that may reasonably be required fromtime to time commensurate with the grading of the post
