Voice Your Choice: Avril Lavigne Nicole & Gabriella Knudson Middle School Teacher: Mrs. Rampton 2013

DescripHon of Project Nicole and Gabriella chose to make a display board to explain the reasons why Avril Lavigne should be included as a 2038 Inductee for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They chose to nominate Avril Lavigne because they were inspired by how she started out in music at a young age. They were impressed with her work ethic and business sense. They felt that a display board would be the best way to showcase photographs and wriTen informaHon. The main challenge was having enough Hme to complete their project in class. They met this challenge by conducHng research on their own and geUng together outside of class to complete their display board. By compleHng this project, Nicole and Gabriella learned how to conduct research independently, how to cite sources, and how to create a visually effecHve project. Most importantly, they learned how to analyze lyrics and think criHcally about popular music. The outcomes of this project were posiHve. The girls worked very well together and made a great team. They were very enthusiasHc about their subject and worked very hard to complete it by the deadline.
