Then David picked up his wooden staff.He went down to a stream and chosefive smooth stones. He put them in thepocket of his shepherd's bag. Then hetook his sling in his hand andapproached Goliath.David said to Goliath, "You arecoming to fight against me with asword, a spear and a javelin. ButI'm coming against you in thename of the Lord who rules overall. He is the God of the armiesof Israel. He's the one you havedared to fight against.”As the Philistine moved closer toattack him, David ran quickly tothe battle line to meet him.

He reached into his bag. He took out astone. He put it in his sling. He slung itat Goliath. The stone hit him on theforehead and sank into it. He fell tothe ground on his face.So David won the fight againstGoliath with a sling and a stone. Hestruck the Philistine down and killedhim. He did it without even using asword.
