It is a monumental, red and white, membranelikesculpture at the Praca Cidade San Salvador in the town of Matosinhos alongthe shoreline outside of Porto. Through her art, Janet Echelman reshapes urbanairspace with monumental public sculptures that respond to environmental forcesincluding wind, water, and sunlight. “I am a sculptor who shapes urban space.
