He was abstemiousate less than any man I know.He drank nothing but water, not from principle, but becausehe did not like wine or spirits. . . .Sometimes he would run away to a lecture or concert or<strong>the</strong>ater for <strong>the</strong> sake of a little rest. . . .He read very little.
