This decline in fertility has beenaccomplished through milled food aid adulterated with endocrine disruptors and with unmilledfood aid composed entirely of sterilizing GMOs. In addition, adulterated vaccines have beenused to suppress female fertility.Your country is in a very difficult demographic and economic situation and population controlby any means is inevitable. Yemen’s oil sector provides 90% of exports and 75% of governmentrevenue, but much of that money is used to import the bulk of the country’s food because the 4%growth rate in GDP is barely keeping ahead of population growth, which adds 700,000 people ayear to a population of 25 million. A third of the population is chronically undernourished andthe number of hungry people increased from 4 million in 1990 to 7 million in 2001. Almost halfof all Yemenis are under 15 years of age, 54% of all Yemenis live under the poverty line, and by2050 the population will have reached 60 million. Acute water shortages, land degradation, civilunrest, and sectarian, tribal and regional divisions pose additional challenges.In response and in desperation, the National Population Council (NPC) approved a plan in 2008to implement a national strategy for reducing the fertility rate. Of course, population reductionefforts have already been in effect since 1995 but have not been well coordinated, which is whythe depopulation task was assumed by the Supreme Council for Women’s Affairs and theWomen’s National Committee (WNC) so it could proceed under the cover of improving childand mother health.
