As a result, the totalfertility rate declined from 7 children per woman prior to 1978 to 3.4 today. This decline hasbeen accomplished through sterilizing vaccines and since 2009 through the fertility suppressingfirst-line malaria treatment combination therapy arthemeter/lumenfantrine.Considering that the Solomon islanders, who number about 600.000, are not a homogenousgroup and live on 300 different islands, speak some 120 vernaculars, reside for the most part insmall and widely dispersed villages with fewer than 200 people, practice subsistence farming andfishing, and have egalitarian social relationships, they constitute a veritable nightmare for thedepopulation lobby of the United Nations. Despite the obstacles and the remoteness of yourislands, however, your people did not escape the poisons devised to suppress human fertility andyour people are well on their way to reaching replacement level fertility, which is the ultimategoal of the UN and its agencies. With a population density of just 20 people per square kilometer, the Solomon Islands are not indanger of becoming overpopulated any time soon. And as luck would have it, I am stopping theuse of covert methods of population control before they damage your people irreversibly, as theyhave damaged people throughout the world and especially the developed world. That meansyour people can benefit from the mistakes made by the rest of the world and act proactively. How and why I describe in my free book, The Future of Global Governance.753 | P a g e
