His successors to the governorship have followed suit: BruceGreatbatch (1969-1970, 1970-1973), Colin Allan (1973-1975, High Commissioner from 1975 to1976).Between 1967 and 1976, the British administrators reduced the number of children born in theSeychelles by 32% (from 38 to 26 births per 1000 people) and the total fertility rate from 6 to 4.2children per woman (a 30% decrease).
