As a result, the total fertility rate declinedfrom nearly 7 children per woman prior to 1974 to just 2.4 today.Considering that Bangladesh is the eighth most populous country on earth with 165 millionpeople and the most densely populated large country in the world with more than 1,000 peopleper square kilometer, no one can doubt its absolute necessity for population control. What isequally clear is that no covert methods of depopulation – be they chemical, biological orbacteriological – can be carried out without devastating human health, shutting down thereproductive system within two or three generations, and downgrading the genetic andintellectual endowment of mankind. Last but not least, it is by now also universally clear that wewill destroy the planet and cause our own demise unless we attain sustainability, which is animpossible task without lowering the population of every country on earth to optimal levels.Given these conditions and dilemmas, the time has come to bring the depopulation effort out inthe open so it can continue openly, legally, fairly and safely. This requires that we reform theUN system and declare depopulation a Planetary Security Prerogative and enshrine it ininternational law.
