(1973-1977), Dries van Agt (1977-1982), Ruud Lubbers (1982-1994), Wim Kok (1994-2002),Jan Peter Balkenende (2002-2010), and the incumbent Mark Rutte (since October 2010).That Holland accomplished low fertility without the use of family planning, contraceptives andabortions is amply demonstrated by the fact that “in the Netherlands, family planning wastraditionally discouraged because it was regarded as being contrary to the objectives of marriageand as promoting promiscuity. As a result, the practice did not receive the backing and support ofthe Government or a majority of the population, including health professionals. Contraceptiveswere not readily available and could not be advertised in the Netherlands until 1969”, by whichtime the total fertility rate had already sunk from 4 to 2.3 children per woman. Furthermore,“during the 1970s, several attempts were made to liberalize the abortion law, but they were notsuccessful owing to strong opposition from various sources” and it was not until 1981 that “afar-reaching abortion law was adopted in the Netherlands which repealed the restrictive abortionprovisions.” (Source: United Nations Population Division, Netherlands Family Planning)By 1981, of course, the demographic transition was already fully accomplished and Holland’s totalfertility rate was already below replacement level without the help of contraceptive, abortion orfamily planning. The historical record shows that Holland’s abortion rate has been relativelyconstant at 10% for the past forty years and as such a non-factor in the fertility decline.Nor can Holland’s miraculous drop in fertility be ascribed to affluence since the GDP per capitafrom 1950 to 1972, by which time the fertility rate had dropped from 4 to 2.2 children perwoman was relatively flat, as the graph below clearly shows. What the data shows is that low fertility predates affluence and is therefore a precondition foraffluence and not vice versa, as it is dishonestly asserted by economists in order to hide theGlobal Depopulation Policy. And his, by the way, is the case for every country in the world andnot just the Netherlands.Holland is in stage four of the demographic transition but it would have already been in stagefive had it not been for its policy of high immigration.581 | P a g e
