During the 1990s the contraceptive prevalence rate rose to 60% and the abortion rate to 25%while fertility dropped from 4 to 2.2 children per woman, which is impossible without the use ofcovert depopulation measures. Since the turn of the century, contraceptive use dropped to 55%and abortions have dropped to 16%, but instead of seeing a substantial fertility increase the totalfertility rate has remained unchanged.At no point in time have contraceptives and abortions played anything other than a secondaryrole in Mongolia’s fertility decline.Mongolia has been rewarded for its war on fertility with a growing GDP, which began to riserapidly at the turn of the 21 st century when the country reached replacement level fertility.Mongolia is in stage three of the demographic transition.540 | P a g e
