Peace Without Poison

Honduras’ leaders have resisted international pressure to undermine their peoples’ reproductiverights until 1975 and its program of population control did not really take off until 1995 whensalt fluoridation was introduced. Until 1995, population control proceeded by open and legalmeans: better provision of contraceptives, reproductive education, and better child and mothermedical services.Covert depopulation measures were approved by President Carlos Roberto Reina (1994-1998)and were undoubtedly part and parcel of his program of ‘moral revolution’. They have beencontinued by his successors: Carlos Roberto Flores (1998-2002), Ricardo Maduro (2002-2006),Manuel Zelaya (2006- 2009), Roberto Micheletti (2009-2010), and Porfirio Lobo Sosa (2010-2014).It is too early to determine if the current President, Juan Orlando Hernández (in office sinceJanuary 2014), will continue to poison his people into infertility or will join my effort to changethe international system and attain true peace; peace without poison.332 | P a g e
