President Bucaram was chased out of the country in 1997, but the fluoride poisoning programhas remained and continues to this day under the auspices of Ecuador’s Ministry of Health withfunding and technical assistance from the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and theWorld Health Organization (WHO). Sterilization though fluoridated salt is currently alsoaugmented with sterilizing vaccines, especially in hard-to-reach rural areas populated byindigenous people.With Rafael Correa as president of Ecuador and Evo Morales as President of Bolivia, SouthAmerica is well-placed to challenge the legality of the UN-delegated program of covertdepopulation and initiate reform of the international order.Ecuador’s contraceptive prevalence rate is 62% and therefore cannot account for the decline infertility to 2.4 children per woman. And since abortion is illegal and performed only in cases ofrape and to save the life of a woman, abortions do not play a statistically significant role.Ecuador too has been rewarded for its war on fertility with a growing per capita GDP. The GDPbegan to rise as soon as fertility had been reduced from nearly 7 to just 3 children per woman in2000. As fertility has continued to decline Ecuador’s GDP has continued to increase.Ecuador has recently entered stage three of the demographic transition.232 | P a g e
