Dear Readers,It gives me immense pleasure to share with you that Wardhadistrict is making rapid progress in the field of socio-economic development.Once known as a farmer suicide hit district, the number of suicide over theyear have been reduced to 14 in year 2010 as compared to 54 in the year2006. The district plan out-lay has been increased up to Rs.85.35 Crores ascompared to Rs 62.37 of previous year. The per capita income stand to Rs34583 as compared to Rs. 21038 for the year 2001. The district having twoMedical Colleges, at least Six Engineering Colleges, several medium andmajor industries, is being identified as an educational and industrial hub.Several Irrigation Projects are being installed in the district, Lower WardhaDam being the latest one in Arvi block expected to create irrigation potentialof approx 51000 hectares and storage of 253 mnq. of water. Being excellentin every government scheme, a special mention can be made of N.R.E.G.S.The expenditure under E.G.S. (Precursor of N.R.E.G.S ) was almost zero inWardha traditionally. However, after the onset of N.R.E.G.S., great effortshave been made by the administration and the total expenditure isapproaching approximately to Rs. 2.00 Crores under M.R.E.G.S.The over all development as registered by the district has beenachieved through meticulous coordination and execution amongst variousgovernment departments. Besides routine government schemes, severalinnovative scheme have been undertaken in the district.

Haritam :- A green initiativeA drive has been undertaken and approximately 35 Lackstrees has been planted through active cooperation of various governmentdepartments, NGOs, Schools, Colleges, Industries and citizens at large. Tillnow approximately 25 Lacks trees have been planted.Swabhiman & Pardhi Uthan Scheme :-Through our innovative effort where-by the down troddensection of societies and tribal are not only provided land by government butalso being provided various facilities like agriculture inputs, landimprovement, houses, infrastructure etc. through coordination amongvarious government departments.Samadhan Yojana :-Scheme inaugurated by Hon’ble Guardian Minister of Wardhadistrict on 26 th January 2010 and ensures the service delivery of a1most 100types of certificates, documents benefits to the rural peoples at revenue circlelevel itself. This means the poor people need not visit block headquarters ordistrict headquarters for their daily needs, and instead they are beingprovided services at the village itself.
