ELECTORAL POLITICS• Elect decision-makers committed to ouragenda and accountable to our communities.Invest in candidate recruitment anddevelopment, with a long-term strategy formoving good candidates toward higher office.• Invest in training a new generation ofgrassroots political campaign organizers.• Develop effective electoral infrastructure; useavailable tools like political action committeesand organizations with lobbying capacity; anddevelop pipeline programs modeled on theEmerge program to prepare Black candidatesto run successfully for offices across the state.Ensure that the structures and expertise existto support their candidacies.ORGANIZE WINNING CAMPAIGNS• Develop campaigns led by the most affectedcommunities with tangible results on issues likejobs, education, policing and policies to endgentrification.COALITION BUILDING• Build racial justice coalitions led bycommunities of color and supported byallies. Their combined resources and politicalcoordination can promote agendas thatwill benefit all low-income and workingOregonians. When all of these are workingtogether, we build long-term movement andcommunity power that will be instrumental inwinning victories at the ballot box.159
