16 Fault Finding16.1 LED Flashing / Fault CodesThe CMS front panel led indicates a fault by a number of whiteflashes, with a red background. The number of flashes indicates thefault code:1. Optical - An optical fault could indicate LED failure or blockageof the optical path. Try flushing with Petroleum Ether, or returnto RMF Systems.2. Low Flow - The CMS estimates the flow by measuring the transitiontime of the particles. The Low Flow warning indicatesthat the flow rate is below the minimum recommended level. 133. High Flow - The flow rate is above the maximum recommendedlevel. This will degrade the accuracy of the particle counts.4. Logging - Fault with data logging memory.5. Water Sensor - Fault with the water sensor.16.2 Test StatusThe status is shown on the CMS screen. This contains a number indicatingthe current state of the CMS, according to Table 16.1. This13 The unit will still work but may be more susceptible to errors caused by pressurefluctuations. This warning can also come on when there are no particles whatsoeverdetected, i.e. the fluid is totally "clean’’. In this case the correct result e.g.0/0/0 is still generated.Fault Finding 55
