This can be a PLC running customer software, ora PC with a RS485 adaptor running the supplied CMS-View software.To provide a reference the RS485 0V connection should alsobe linked to the CMS 0V (as shown on the drawing).The standard CMS control protocol is Modbus RTU. Modbus is afreely available open standard for industrial control. Adapters areavailable to interface to other industrial control buses. The standardCMS-View software from RMF Systems itself uses Modbus tocommunicate with the CMS, but it is also possible for customers toimplement their own controllers – see chapter 18.44 Electrical Interface
