This can be a PLC running customer software, ora PC with a RS485 adaptor running the supplied <strong>CMS</strong>-View software.To provide a reference the RS485 0V connection should alsobe linked to the <strong>CMS</strong> 0V (as shown on the drawing).The standard <strong>CMS</strong> control protocol is Modbus RTU. Modbus is afreely available open standard for industrial control. Adapters areavailable to interface to other industrial control buses. The standard<strong>CMS</strong>-View software from RMF Systems itself uses Modbus tocommunicate with the <strong>CMS</strong>, but it is also possible for customers toimplement their own controllers – see chapter 18.44 Electrical Interface
