In the 1990s, rebellious young people began <strong>to</strong> decorate their bodies<br />

fashionable but suitable for the runways in high fashion?<br />

In the mid-1990s, the new genre of music called hip-hop was introduced<br />

in<strong>to</strong> the American entertainment scene. Along with this type of music came<br />

fashions like baseball caps worn backward, stylized sneakers worn untied,<br />

and oversized baggy pants. Fifteen years later, hip-hop–inspired fashions<br />

have been accepted in<strong>to</strong> mainstream. Where did this movement originate?
