iam grateful to many people and organizations that
helped me with this book. The industry professionals who are
icons in the fashion industry were so generous with their time,
information, and encouragement. I am thankful to the forecasting
firms that supported this project with access to their insight
and information. The students who created projects for the book provided
me with great hope for the fashion industry’s future, and I am appreciative
for all of the dedicated work that they submitted. I am grateful to
all of those who helped and encouraged me to write this book, although
there are too many to name. However, I would like to personally thank
several people who provided loving encouragement and support for this
project. Rick Benjamin, from Goddard College, gave me the courage to
begin. Thanks go to my colleagues, especially Andre West, fashion department
chairperson at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, for giving
me the opportunity to share my passion and experience with students. I
