Low Voltage Net<strong>work</strong> Assets11 LOW VOLTAGE NETWORKASSETSPRINCIPLE – Safe <strong>work</strong>ing procedures shall beestablished <strong>for</strong> <strong>work</strong> on or near low voltagenet<strong>work</strong> assets.11.1 GENERAL11.1.1 Persons required to <strong>work</strong> on or near lowvoltage net<strong>work</strong> assets shall be appropriatelytrained and authorised.11.1.2 Work on or near low voltage net<strong>work</strong> assets,shall be undertaken in accordance with approvedprocedures.11.1.3 Be<strong>for</strong>e commencing <strong>work</strong> on or near any lowvoltage net<strong>work</strong> assets they shall firstly beidentified as the assets associated with the <strong>work</strong> tobe undertaken.11.2 WORK ON OR NEAR LIVE LOWVOLTAGE CONDUCTORSWhen <strong>work</strong> is to be carried out on or near live lowvoltage net<strong>work</strong> assets, approved precautions shallbe taken to prevent simultaneous contact withconductors or conducting objects at differentpotentials.Blue Book – December 2005 Page 113 <strong>of</strong> 148
