Resuscitation Training Department3.1 At a minimum, there should be enough resuscitation trainers to meet thetraining needs for the RUH NHS Trust. This is in line with ‘CardiopulmonaryResuscitation – Standards for Clinical Practice and Training – A jointstatement from the Royal College of Anaesthetists, the Royal College ofPhysicians of London, the Intensive Care Society and the ResuscitationCouncil (UK)’.3.2 Additional resuscitation officers may be employed to meet the requirements oftraining contracts outside of the RUH NHS Trust.3.3 The duties of the Senior Resuscitation Officer (Resuscitation/Clinical skillsTraining Manager) focus on being a professional resource and advisor onresuscitation and include: follow up reports of incidents relating to cardiacarrests or other clinical emergencies; providing de-briefing for staff; providinga visible and accessible resource in clinical settings; co-ordinating thepurchase of clinical emergency equipment and its distribution across the Trustsite; leading on the development, promotion and evaluation of Trust clinicalpolicies and procedures; and actively participating as a member of the TrustResuscitation Committee.
