THE MISSION AND OBJECTIVES OF THE SCHOOL OF LAW1-201 Howard University is a comprehensive, research-oriented, historically blackprivate university providing an educational experience of exceptional quality tostudents of high academic potential with particular emphasis upon the provisionof educational opportunities to promising black students. Further, the Universityis dedicated to attracting and sustaining a cadre of faculty who are, through theirteaching and research, committed to the development of distinguished andcompassionate graduates and to the quest for solutions to human and socialproblems in the United States and throughout the world. 11-202 The mission of the Law School derives from the University’s mission. In oursociety, lawyers greatly influence-and indeed they are significant decisionmakersin-both the public and private sectors.
