CHAPTER 5EXPERIMENTS AND RESULTSIn the last chapter, the mathematical integrated model was introduced using theextended collinearity equations <strong>with</strong> <strong>splines</strong>, tangents of <strong>splines</strong>, and the arc-lengthparameterization equations of <strong>splines</strong>. This chapter demonstrates the feasibility andthe performance of the proposed model for the acquisition of spline parameters, splinelocation parameters and image orientation parameters based on control and tie <strong>splines</strong>in the object space <strong>with</strong> the simulated and real data set. In general photogrammetrictasks, the correspondence between image edge features must be established eitherautomatically or manually but in this study correspondence between image edgefeatures is not required. A series of experiments <strong>with</strong> the synthetic data set consistsof six experiments that the first test recovers spline parameters and spline locationparameters <strong>with</strong> respect to the case of error free EOPs.The second experimentrecovers the partial spline parameters related <strong>with</strong> the shape of <strong>splines</strong>. The thirdprocedure estimates the spline location parameters in the case of error free EOPs andthe fourth one calculates EOPs and spline location parameters followed by the fifthstep which estimates EOPs <strong>with</strong> full control <strong>splines</strong>, which the parametric curves usedas control features are assumed to be error free. In the last experiment, EOPs andtie spline parameters are obtained <strong>with</strong> the control spline. Object space knowledge70
