Upon theconsideration and adoption of said statement andassessment roll by the Council of the city of Savannah,it shall then become the duty of the CityTreasurer to send to the abutting property ownerstheir proper bill for the same as it may be ascertainedby the City Council, and, if such bill so sentbe not paid within thirty (30) days after the presentationor sending of the same, it shall then becomethe duty of the City Treasurer to issue an executionfor the amount, together with costs, against the personsand property aforesaid, which execution shallbe made and levied out of the property describedtherein as are executions for city taxes.Sec. 4. Be it ordained by the Mayor andAldermen of the city of Savannah in council assembled,That the statement and assessment roll submittedto Council by the Director of Public Worksfor the city of Savannah and the Committee onStreets and Lanes of said city, made under an ordinancepassed Oct. 17, 1900, and entitled "An ordinancefor the improvement of Indian street, in thecity of Savannah, from the ^vest side of West Broadstreet to the west side of Water street, under the
342 MAYOB'S ANNUAL REPORT.terms and provisions of an act of the Legislature ofGeorgia, approved Oct. 1, 1887," be, and they arehereby, declared to be the official statement andassessment roll of said improvement under said ordinance.The said statement and assessment rollbeing that entitled statement and assessment roll forimproving Indian street, " a statement showing thecost of the improvement of Indian street, in the cityof Savannah, from the west side of West Broadstreet to the west side of Water street, between thecurbing already laid on said portion of Indianstreet. As made under an ordinance of the city ofSavannah, passed Oct. 17, 1900, and an assessmentroll showing as to two-thirds of this cost, howit is apportioned among the several abutting parcels,and giving the sums chargeable to each parcel, withthe names of the owners." And the Clerk of Councilof the city of Savannah is hereby directed tomark the said statement and assessment roll filedas of this date, and to enter the same on the minutesof Council for due authentication and presentation.Sec. 2. Be it further ordained, That the Treasurerof the city of Savannah is hereby directed to makeout and send to the property-owners a bill for therespective amounts due by them, as provided by thesaid ordinance. Should the .said bills be not paidwithin thirty days from the date of the bill then itshall be the duty of the Treasurer to issue executionsas provided for by the said ordinance, which shall bemade and levied as are executions for city taxes.Sec. 3.
