Be it further ordained, That every member ' fof the said fire department who is killed while in the jdischarge of his duty or dies from the effects of injuriesreceived in the discharge of his duties shall beburied at the expense, not to exceed fifty (50) dollars,of the said city, and the dependent family of suchmember shall receive his monthly salary for six (6)months after his death.Sec. 3.
