Letters to the EditorThank you for the great issues of The Point - excellentpublication! I enjoy learning about all that is new at PointPark.– Ellen (Harbold) Gamble (COM 1990)I enjoyed the last edition of The Point I just received and I wasvery pleased to see Prof. Bob O’Gara on the cover. I enjoyedhis course a great deal back in 1992. I hear from my otherfavorite professor, Kathleen Donnelly, fairly regularly. As youwould expect, her blogs from the UK are very entertaining!– Julian Asenjo (MA, COM 1993)I have now read several issues of The Point, and I continueto be amazed by the professionalism, as well as the overallentertainment value provided in each issue. The photographyis crisp and creative, and the text is detailed, yet concise andinsightful. In the Winter 2008-2009 issue, I was particularly pleased tofind a small, but relevant section titled Class Notes. Withinthis section, several Point Park alumni were recognized forsome of their professional and other life accomplishments andprogressions after earning degrees at Point Park. Seeing someof these successes reminds one of the true meaning behindreceiving a quality education from a progressive, forwardthinkinginstitution of higher learning. The Point and Point Park University continue to motivatecurrent students and alumni to make the best of the educationthey have received, and to realize that dreams are advanced bythe Point Park community every day.– Jason Bloom, M.B.A. (BUS ‘05)Keeping Up the REPutationJohn Shepard, chair of PointPark University’sConservatory ofPerforming Artstheatre department, was recently namedPerformer of the Yearby the PittsburghPost-Gazette for hisacclaimed role as Willy Loman in The REP’s Sept. 2008production of Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman.
