Joel Mercier music director, a New England<br />

based music director, composer and actor, is a<br />

graduate of the Hartt School of Music. He is<br />

currently the Artistic Associate and Resident<br />

Music Director of the New London Barn<br />

Playhouse where he has musically directed over<br />

25 musicals and reviews in the past four seasons.<br />

Prior to relocating to New Hampshire, Joel’s<br />

work in New York City comprised of assisting<br />

numerous shows, readings, and concerts,<br />

including Off-Broadway, as music director, AMD,<br />

music copyist and supervisor. Joel was a regular<br />

accompanist at the Duplex and supervised<br />

several concerts at the Nokia Theatre Times<br />

Square. Recent Music Direction credits include:<br />

Crazy For You, The Wizard of Oz, Hairspray, The<br />

Pirates of Penzance, The Drowsy Chaperone, The<br />

Producers, Falsettos, Secret Garden, Songs For a<br />

New World, Full Monty, Les Miserables, and The<br />

Hot Mikado. Joel is also a private voice and<br />

piano teacher, arranger, and an award-winning<br />

composer. Locally, Joel’s most recent work<br />

includes Annie at the Northern Stage in Vermont<br />

where he will return to musically direct Chicago<br />
