Krajina Levantede Almeria je sicer zelo bogata, ima velikodediščinskih elementov, ki so jih pustile preteklekulture. Prioritetno je treba reševati predvsemprobleme povezane z urbanizmom v povezavi zdejavnostmi in posegi, ki spremljajo razvojturizma. Trenutna metodologija urbanegaplaniranja ne upošteva bistvenih elementovprostorske strukture, kot so dediščina, identitetain krajina, zaradi česar prihaja do njihovegarazvrednotenja.Prav zato je bilo predlagano, da se pripravianaliza ranljivosti, ki je v svojem bistvu strateškoplanersko orodje, ki omogoča optimizacijonamenske rabe ob upoštevanju zahtev varstvaokolja. Ta metodologija bo omogočila dosečikonsenz glede namenske rabe v tem območju.Rezultati študije ranljivosti, prav tako tudi sampostopek priprave, bodo pripomogli kcelovitemu planiranju in upravljanju krajine.Glavni cilj te analize je torej upravljati krajinoLevante de Almeria in njeno kulturno dediščinona celovit način in s konsenzom. Namen jevarstvo in vzdržna raba njenih potencialov, takosocialnih, ekonomskih kot okoljskih vrednot zrazreševanjem obstoječih konfliktov v namenskirabi, še zlasti tistih, ki so povezani z urbanizmomin razvojem turizma. The area is characterised by a strongand growing pressure on the coastal areas ofthe region as a result of human activities, typicalfor the Mediterranean coastline, such as urbandevelopment, tourism, fishing, intensive agriculture,use of hydrological resources, pollution,and degradation of the natural environment.There is an obvious need to go beyond an excessivelysectorial view of the different existing problems,since, in view of the clear interrelationshipamong them, valid alternatives for a sector maybe highly negative for another one.In Levante de Almeria, a spectacular increase ofthe threats to landscape is taking place, whichobliges the authorities to reach agreements andtake actions to avoid the degradation of the landscape.Together with the landscape values,Levante de Almeria has a widespread heritage,being the result of the various cultures that havesettled in the territory. One of the factors interveningin the devaluation of the cultural heritageand landscape in Levante de Almeria is the urbanplanning linked to the tourism-related activities.In general terms, the methodology of urbanplanning does not take into account the devaluationof essential elements of the territorialstructure, such as the loss of heritage, identityor landscape.That is way a vulnerability assessment, as a strategicplanning tool aimed at optimisation of landuses from the aspect of environment protection,was proposed as the appropriate methodologyto come to a consensus about the land use inthis area. Its outputs as well as the process ofimplementation will provide support for integratedplanning and management of the landscape.The main objective is therefore to managethe coastal landscapes of Levante deAlmeria and its cultural heritage in an integratedand consensual way in order to protect and usesustainably its social, economic and environmentalassets, by mitigating the existing landuseconflicts, in particular those related to urbantransformations and tourism development; designingand application of valuation and assessmentmethodologies and tools specific for landscapemanagement; and including the culturalheritage and landscape qualities as a developmentasset.
