Slika sama jegrafična ocena istrskih otokov, pri čemer sta bilianalizirani dve lastnosti – velikost in raba.Čeprav so istrski otoki razen otoka Veliki Brionmajhni v primerjavi z drugimi hrvaškimi otoki, jenjihova velikost kljub vsemu zelo različna. Zaraditega smo istrske otoke razdelili v štiri skupine povelikosti:1 Veliki otoki2 Srednje veliki otoki3 Majhni otoki4 Otočki in skaleZraven tega smo na osnovi vpogleda v turističnipoložaj teh otokov in njihovih potencialovustvarili sedem modelov rabe za nameneturizma ter ovir za turizem:a Nacionalni park turkiznab Divji otoki zelenac Posebno kmetijstvo svetlo zelenad Otoki s svetilniki svetlo modrathe Brijuni Islands, there are three more suchgroups of islands near Poreč and Vrsar, nearRovinj, and near Medulin and Premantura. Most of the Istrian islands and their surroundingsare protected under various nature protectionregulations as national parks, protectedlandscapes, ornithological reserves, or specialmarine reserves. The only islands without anytype of protection are Sv. Andrija, Sv. Katarina,Uljanik and Veruda in the waters of Pula, and theislets of Premantura and Pomer in Medulin waters. Thus, the majority of the Istrian islands areprotected from any kind of development, even oftourism facilities, which requires a highly sophisticatedapproach to their use in tourism. We should also note that the tourism marketingterm of »Crveni Otok« (red island), actually suggeststwo mutually connected islands - Sv.Andrija and Maškina. Each of the islands, as well as each group ofIstrian islands, has an original or transformedorganic association with individual areas (settlements)of the Istrian coast. Originally, these islandswere used by nearby coastal residents foragricultural (livestock) production, which graduallylost in significance; while in the meantime, the relationship between the coast and the islandshas converted spontaneously to that oftourism. The conclusion is that the islands of the IstrianCounty, individually or all together, represent afirst-class potential tourist attraction, that requiresevaluation and additional protection fromdevastation and irrational use on the part ofother industrial sectors, but also the tourism industryitself.Status evaluationStatus evaluation of the Istrian islands, in thefirst phase requires the thorough identificationand functional classification of all the Istrian islands, especially for the purpose of consideringthem as one tourism item. This item would thenbe evaluated by the total number of islands androcks, their size, and their use according to tourismstandards, as presented in the figure attached. The figure itself is a graphic evaluationof the Istrian islands, in which process two attributeswere analysed – size and use.Although the Istrian islands, apart from VelikiBrijun Island, are small in relation to other145Delavnica 2 / Workshop 2
