Follow the tips below to help ensure a safer time this <strong>Winter</strong>.Water <strong>Safety</strong>1. Always supervise children and petsaround frozen water. Don’t let them playon it, it may not hold their weight.2. Talk to your children about the hazardsof frozen water and what to do if theysee someone fall through the ice.3. Make sure your children are wearingfootwear with a good grip to reducethe risk of slipping and falling onicy pavements and take your timewhen walking!Outdoor <strong>Safety</strong>4. Make sure your children are wrappedup well to keep warm and dry in wintryweather conditions.5. If enjoying sledging in snowy weather,never sledge near roads, pavements orwater and make sure there is plenty ofroom at the end of the run to slow downand stop.6. Don’t allow your children to sledgehead-first and remember that cyclehelmets and pads double up well forextra protection.7.
