We hope you are able to join us on ourcinematic journey through seven days of the bestnew feature films, documentaries and shortsaccompanied by some of the people who madethem.Highlights of TFF 2006 include:Antalya Audience Prize Best Film winnerDREAMING GAMES; TOSS UP, centred around thearmed conflicts in South Eastern Turkey; thebeautifully told and moving story of a womanconnecting with her lost past WAITING FOR THECLOUDS; urban drama ANGEL'S FALL; historicaltale KILLING THE SHADOWS; Reha Erdem'sintriguing story of amnesia MUMMY I'M SCARED;the remarkable Iranian production BORDER CAFÉ;the truly outstanding MY FATHER AND MY SONand from closer to home, the London producedCULTURAL MENACE.This year the Festival includes four programmes ofdocumentaries: FAR, a personal documentaryabout the remaining inhabitants of a Kurdish villageand those who have left + WHEEL, Ahmet Soner'scharming portrait of village life; FRAGMENTS OFTHE PAST, exploring the tradition of cinema-goingamong the Turkish speaking communities inLondon + I USED TO LIVE IN CYPRUS, trackingthe journeys of first generation Turkish Cypriotsmigrating to the UK; UPSIDE DOWN TANGO,documenting triumph in the bleakest timesfollowing the Argentinian economic crash of 2001;and finally acclaimed director Fatih Ak›n'sdazzling musical portrait of Istanbul CROSSINGTHE BRIDGE.A programme of short films will showcase the verybest work from young filmmakers working in theUK and Turkey.As usual the Festival will include appearances fromdirectors and actors from some of our featuredfilms.
