PURPOSE<br />
To get exposed to behavioural aspects in concrete making and special concretes.<br />
INSTRUCTIONAL OBJECTIVES<br />
• To develop systematic knowledge of concrete constituents<br />
• To familiarize with the fundamentals of concrete<br />
• Principles involved for high performance concrete<br />
• To understand the basic concepts of special concretes<br />

CONCRETE MAKING MATERIALS<br />
Introduction to concrete technology materials used for making concrete. Cement types of cement chemical<br />
composition of cementhydration of cementtesting on cement: finenesssetting timesoundnessstrength Aggregate:<br />
classification of aggregate according to the formation, size and shapeproperties of aggregate: physical properties <br />
specific gravitybulk densityporosity and absorptionmoisture contentbulking of sandmechanical properties <br />
