Ken Schreiber (far left) of La Porte, IN, who retired during the 1998 season, won 1,010 games and ranks No. 9 on the all-time coachinglist. In 1992, Schreiber led his team to its seventh Indiana <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> Athletic Association baseball title. He was inducted in 1999. From 1960 to 1989,Dwight Church (second from left) coached the Lewiston, ID, baseball squad to a 673-231 record, which ranks on the list for most wins by a high schoolbaseball coach. His teams won seven state championships and finish ed second five other times. In addition, his American Legion teams won 21 stateLegion championships and almost 2,000 games. Church was inducted into the <strong>National</strong> <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> Hall of Fame in 1993. John Stev en son (second fromright) of El Segundo, CA, has won 1,036 games, No. 7 all time. Among his former players are Scott McGregor of the Baltimore Orioles and George Brettof the Kansas City Royals. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1998. John Lowery (far right), a 2002 inductee into the <strong>National</strong> <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> Hall ofFame, has coached at Harpers Ferry, WV and Shenandoah Junction Jefferson, WV, since 1971. His 1,027 wins are the most by a coach in West Virginia.26
