Lloyd FredendallPresident/CEOLloyd joined <strong>NorthStar</strong> <strong>Credit</strong> <strong>Union</strong>(F.K.A. NaperTech Federal <strong>Credit</strong> <strong>Union</strong>)as President/CEO back in July of1991. At that time, the credit unionoperated out of a leased space in aNaperville office building and heldtotal assets of less than $20mm.Due to a never ending focus onservice and value to the members,<strong>NorthStar</strong> has grown “many-fold”since then in terms of members,loans to members and of course,member funds on deposit. He alsoserves on the board of directors ofCU/America Financial Services, Inc.(our mortgage lending unit), and SpectrumBusiness Resources, LLC (our memberbusiness lending unit). These twocompanies are CUSOs (<strong>Credit</strong> <strong>Union</strong>Service Organizations) owned by <strong>NorthStar</strong>and select area credit unions.Lloyd began his career as a Fidelityand Surety Bond Underwriter forfinancially troubled banks andsavings and loan associations. Hethen went to the Federal HomeLoan Bank of Chicago as a FieldExaminer, where he served both as“Banks are in business to make moneyfor their stockholders. <strong>Credit</strong> <strong>Union</strong>s are inbusiness to help their members!” • LloydExaminer-in-Charge and asAssistant Examiner on savings andloan regulatory examinationsacross the United States. He thenaccepted a position at the State ofIllinois Department of FinancialInstitutions (DFI), <strong>Credit</strong> <strong>Union</strong>Division. As Assistant, as well asActing Supervisor, he wasresponsible for the regulation andexamination of all Illinois statechartered credit unions.He also serves as a member of<strong>NorthStar</strong>’s Loan, Asset LiabilityManagement, and MemberBusiness Loan Committees. He isa graduate of Northern IllinoisUniversity with a degree inFinance.
