(ix) The Interim Council (nfsqzr ew/Nh) of the Shiromani Committee was<br />
authorized to issue and to take necessary decisions about the working,<br />
supervision, purchases, payment of bills, accounts etc. of the department;<br />
and (x) All the property, literature and staff of Gurdwara Printing Press and<br />
Gurmat Literature Department shall be handed over to this department the<br />
assets. Liabilities of these departments would then be the responsibility of<br />
this department.<br />
On October 3, 1926, resolution was unanimously adopted that dates as<br />
per Khalsa year should be used in the Boards work of every kind. But there<br />
would be no objection to using dates as per English Calendar along side. 95<br />
Another meeting of Gurdwara Central Board (SGPC) supported the<br />
resolution that had been passed earlier in connection with English calendar. 96<br />
A general meeting of the SGPC held on October 8, 1927 resolved that a<br />
monthly newspaper should be published to communicate correct information<br />
about the functioning of the Sikh festivals, Local Gurdwara Committees and<br />
the gurdwaras. This newspaper should be called ‘Gurdwara Gazette’ like the<br />
Government Gazette. The Executive Council should take decision about<br />
raising funds for it and other matters’ related to the printing of religious and<br />
other literature. 97<br />
Influence of Sikhism was declining in Sikh states as a result of the<br />
