RATES AND PRICE ADJUSTMENT27.1 Rates quoted in Schedule “A” shall not be subjected to any adjustment whatsoever due tofluctuations in the local rates and rate of dearness allowances etc, for labour during the contractperiod and/or any other cause whatsoever except as allowed only vide clause 63 of the GeneralConditions of Contract of IAFW-2249.27.2 Contractor’s rates quoted in the Schedule “A” shall be deemed to be inclusive of all sucharrangement as may be involved in satisfactory execution of the work under the contract. No claimwhatsoever on account of any misunderstanding or otherwise shall be admitted.27.3 Any Local taxes/charges including Octroi, Royalty charges, income tax, Sales tax etc as perexisting order of the Govt. shall be borne by the contractor and the rate quoted by the tenderershall be deemed to be inclusive of all such contingencies.28. DEDUCTION OF TAXES AT SOURCE28.1 Income Tax : Income Tax at source shall be deducted as per existing instructions and as notifiedfrom time to time by the Income Tax authorities.28.2 Service Tax: The tax in respect of service provided in the shape of work, as payable to the stateGovt, as per their notification shall be deducted at source from the RAR/final bill of the contractoras per the rate prevailing at the time of execution of work. For the calculation of Service tax aspayable, the value of Schedule ‘B’ store, issued, if any be deducted from the contract amount. Anysubsequent increase/decrease in the service tax over and above the one prevailing at the time ofsubmission of bid will be adjusted suitably.29. SPECIAL SECURITY DEPOSIT (SSD)29.1 3% of the contract value shall be deposited by the contractor as Special Security Deposit either inthe form of bank guarantee or in the form of Deposit at Call receipt/Term Deposit/Special TermDeposit issued in favour of Chief Engineer, Project Vijayak, PIN-931721, C/o 56 APO byScheduled Bank, having validity till expiry of defect liability period (i.e. One year after completion ofwork). In case the contractor fails to deposit the SSD in this form, the amount shall be deductedfrom the RAR/final bill of the contract. GENERAL1.1 All materials to be used, all methods adopted and all works performed shall be strictly inaccordance with the requirements of the specification mentioned hereunder.1.2 All the stores, goods, materials to be supplied/erected by the contractor shall be brand new and inconformity with the make and IS Code/ISD specifications referred at Schedule ’A’ and hereunderincluding any other stipulation made therein and drawings enclosed.1.3 Samples of all items as per Sch ‘A’ shall be got approved from OC Contract and Engr-in-Chargebefore commencement of supply/erection.1.4 The civil works as involved in construction of these shelters viz Foundation, plinth, flooring(except tile works), external drainage, external water supply and external electrification willbe carried out by the department.1.5 The Accepting Officer at any point of time, during supply & erection of shelter, get certainpart/parts checked for quality thereof including tax payment details thereof to ascertain qualitystandards as per the specification given hereunder. Any deviation in quality standard andnon-payment of taxes as applicable may lead to cancellation of contract at risk & cost of thecontractor.2 SCOPE OF WORK, SIZES AND DESIGN PARAMETERS2.1 The following type of shelter are to be supplied and erected under this tender:-2.1.1 Prefab insulated PUF shelter for Offrs living of Size 8.77 m x 7.54 m with Verandah 1.80 m wideincluding one Store/Kitchen 3.66 m x 2.10 m and two Toilet 2.10 m x 1.80 m (Drg No. VJK/T-No.46/01/E8 dated 08 Jun 2012 (Part-I & II).2.1.2 Prefab CHDH shelter of size 20.8 m x 6.10 m for Officers Mess (Drg No. VJK/T-No. 46/02/E8dated 08 Jun 2012 (Part-I & II).2.1.3 Prefab insulated PUF shelter for JCOs/Supvrs living accommodation of Size 18.3 m x 6.10 m with1.50 m wide Verandah and attached toilet block 2 Nos of size 5.49 m x 1.83 m (Drg No. VJK/T-No.46/03/E8 dated 08 Jun 2012 (Part-I & II).2.1.4 Prefab insulated PUF shelter for ORs living accn of Size 22.08 m x 6.10 m with 1.80 m wideVerandah incl Toilet block.
