<strong>Lane</strong> <strong>Cove</strong> <strong>12ft</strong> <strong>Sailing</strong> <strong>Skiff</strong> <strong>Club</strong>CHS tussles were held up on Day One when 30knots of Southerly breeze meant no racing.Twenty knots on Day Two meant lots of thrills andspills. The 2012 CHS Cherub Champions areJeremy Jones and Billy Lusty in PineappleExpress, Tilly Lang and Nicole Barnes sailedLiqour in Public into fourth, Emma May andGretta Quealy in Ajax seventh and Lily Peel andAlly Lusty in Black Pearl eigth. Not content with aCherub, Charlie Gundy and Catriona Glassockteamed up and raced a Tornado catamaranRocket Chimp, knocking off the 49er on the finishline of Race Three saw them take line honours.Zachary Tatham stepped up into a 29er for theseries. Five Flying 11s made up the balance ofthe <strong>Lane</strong> <strong>Cove</strong>’s CHS representation. DevlinWalsh and Ed Breslin in Bullet, Emma Harrisonand Ellie Breslin in Luff me Knot, James Pagettand Adele Phillips in Dynamite, Hannah Merchantand Gael Glassock in Miss Elevation and JamesGlassock and Millie Jones in Nothing to Lose.Race Two saw James and Millie finish fourthacross the line in their class. In the final raceEmma and Ellie led the fleet around the firsttriangle and Hannah and Gael were up with thefront runners in the top ten. Emma and Elliefinished seventh overall in the 35 boat strongAustralian Girls Fleet.Again, this year the CYCA and its youth sailingacademy made available four ½ scholarships.This years recipients are Devlin Walsh, Matt Este,Ed Breslin and James Glassock all whom are inthe Talented Sailor Squad. Thank you to theCYCA for giving our young sailors thisopportunity.going into Cherubs, Billy will also fit in some 29ercrewing. Bullet has been sold to the Breslins withEd stepping out of Sabots to team up with bigsister Ellie, Gael Glassock has teamed up withEmma Harrision to fill the vacancy left by Ellie.Also stepping out of Sabots and joining the fleetwill be Lily Peel teaming up with another Sabotsailor from Drummoyne Tahlia Phillips. I am surethere will be more crew and boat shuffles beforethe fleet reconvenes in September for the 2012-13Season.The F11 Ghost Writer for David Lang andDavid Lusty - Flying 11 Class SecretariesFlying Eleven Handicap Pointscore winners Catriona Glassockand Tom Larkings in Seven Minutes to Midnight.Looking forward to next season there are alreadyboats being bought and sold and crewcombinations changing.
