Although a late starterin the season, John Mulquiny and Mark Gauccishowed consistency and a keen spirit for Cherubsalso securing two of the handicap trophies.Although we won’t be seeing Kat much nextseason, whilst she is studying overseas, we hopeto see Chloe and a new skipper, together withJohn and Mark, continuing their fantastic efforts.Cherub <strong>Annual</strong> Handicap Pointscore winners Chris Walsh andPaul Breslin in Electric Blue.Have a great winter break, and get your boatstuned up to hit the water racing in 2012/13.Kate Hayward - Cherub Class SecretaryGaining second in the Fastest Time Pointscore,second in the <strong>Club</strong> Championship and third in theHandicap was the father daughter duo ofAlchemy, Claire and Rolf Lunsmann. PocketRocket was placed third in the <strong>Club</strong>Championship and third in Fastest TimePointscore.Keen from the outset, the stars weren’t aligned forJessica White and Kate Hayward, of Ralph whenJessica wound up in hospital with a brokencollarbone. Kate stepped in with a few differentcrews bringing back previous <strong>Club</strong> Championshipwinners, Ali Chapman and sibling Mark Hayward.Two of the unsung heroes in the Cherub fleetwere John Afaras and Max Gundy in Ajax. Whilstthey didn’t appear on the winner board, they put inan outstanding effort throughout the season. KatWotherspoon spent her first season in Cherubswith Chloe Jensen in Spoilers and showed greatdetermination and consistent improvement takingRunners-up in the Cherub <strong>Club</strong> Championship Claire andRolf Lunsmann in Alchemy.There was always drama on Spoilers with Kat Wotherspoon andChloe Jensen.Flying 11’sThis season saw the Flying 11 fleet bolstered by anumber of sailors stepping up from Sabots, EmmaHarrision and Ellie Breslin bought Luff Me Knotfrom Kat Wotherspoon who moved on to Cherubs,Hannah Merchant and Charlotte Alexander inMiss Elevation, James Pagett complemented hisSabot sailing at Drummoyne on Sundays bycrewing for Aaron Gage in Riddles, joining thefleet and setting a standard for all to attain wasGretta Quealy and Tom Smith in Decoy. Anotherstepping out of Sabots was Tom Larkings whoteamed up with Catriona Glassock in SevenMinutes to Midnight, Matt Este also joined thefleet recruiting the experienced Georgia Populinas crew, Jeremy Jones took the helm of his ownboat Snap! With yet another Sabot recruit DevlinWalsh in the bow.The first interclub race on the Flying 11Association calendar was the SprintChampionship held this season for the first time atNorthbridge <strong>Sailing</strong> <strong>Club</strong>, showing a cleanwww.LC<strong>12ft</strong>SSC.org.au Page 15
