Reining on TV>> <strong>The</strong> <strong>SVAG</strong> <strong>CS</strong> <strong>Classic</strong> becamefamous for theinternational coverageHaving people with cameras and microphoneson their shoulder stumblingthrough the perfectly preparedground in the arena of a high classcompetition is not something you seevery often, but once a year the Reiningcommunity gets familiar with it.Over the years, the team of the <strong>CS</strong>Ranch has built up a strong tv-coveragefor the sport of Reining whichusually is not televized much.It was thanks to Michael that we gotthe tv-stations interested, as whenhe agreed to show, the interest increasedtremendously. We could thuscreate our Celebrity Reining competitionwhich nowadays is famous evenin the US. Celebrites, tv-reportersand others were telling the story ofthis beautiful discipline.What is more, most of the coveragewas part of a Formula-1-coveragetoo, with viewerships of severalmillion each: Deutsche Welle international,RTL Germany and Netherlands,TF1, Eurosport, BBC England,ARD Germany, ORF Austria, SBS Belgium,SF1 Switzerland, Sky Germanyand Italia, to name some of them.Most of the competitors had neverheard about Reining, and quite someeven had not been on a horse before,so it took a lot of courage on theirside (and on the side of their trainers,too...) to participate in the event. Allof them were please be the welcomeof the audience in the Arena whounderstood perfectly that the ideawas to be part of it. Our competitorswere cheered up a lot and supportedthrough the whole pattern. And especiallyone of our rookies fell in lovewith the sport so much that he hasbought a horse and is a fierce competitorin official classes by now...54
