The SVAG CS Classic>> famous for both: highestlevel of Reining & FunIt is now the 8th year that the CSRanch is hosting the most prestigiousReining show in Switzerland, if not inEurope: the SVAG CS Classic.10With this very special event, CorinnaSchumacher and her Team have, in avery pleasant und subtle way, helpedto achieve what the Reining scenehas aimed for so long: acceptanceamongst the riders for being a realsport, popularity in a wider audience.The sport is much more known nowthan it was a few years ago, and is notregarded anymore as the spare timepleasure of some outsiders who liketo play cowboys.This became obvious when the teamof the CS Ranch three years ago inventeda so-called „Celebrity Reining“Show. At first many Reinerswere sceptical, but it became clearvery quickly that the invited celebritiesknown from TV and sports-presentersfrom all over Europe did notat all aim to make Reining ridiculousbut transported what a fascinatingsport it is.Michael Schumacher himself, whonever had dared to really try, wasready to help promote the belovedsport of his wife, and we do noticethat also other shows try to set upthis kind of event At the end of lastyear, at the most prestigious Show ofReining at all – the NRHA Futurity inOklahoma City – Michael was leadinga team in a Charity event againstGrammy award winner Lyle Lovett.Thus, the sport receives coveragewide outside its usual spectatorship.Enhancing the popularity of her sport,however, is not the only aim Michael’swife Corinna is pushing for. She is onekey member of a group campainingfor „Clean Slide“, a movement withinthe Reining sport fighting for cleancompetitions. As in most competitiveareas, some people try to enforceresults with practices unfair to theircompetitors and harmful for theirhorses.
