During Fiscal Year 2008-09, the <strong>Airport</strong> was served by 49 passenger <strong>and</strong> 10 cargo only airlines. Domestic<br />

passenger air carriers provided scheduled non-stop service to 73 airport destinations <strong>and</strong> scheduled one-stop service<br />

to an additional 34 destinations within the United States. Twenty-eight passenger airlines provided nonstop<br />

scheduled passenger service to over 30 international airport destinations <strong>and</strong> one-stop service to an additional 22<br />

international destinations.<br />

During Fiscal Year 2008-09, United Airlines (including SkyWest Airlines/United Express) h<strong>and</strong>led 40.6%<br />

<strong>of</strong> the total enplaned passengers at the <strong>Airport</strong> (a decrease in market share <strong>of</strong> 3.1 percentage points compared to<br />

Fiscal Year 2007-08), American Airlines (including American Eagle Airlines) h<strong>and</strong>led 9.2%; <strong>and</strong> Delta Air Lines<br />

(including SkyWest Airlines, Express Jet Airlines <strong>and</strong> Mesaba Airlines) h<strong>and</strong>led 4.9%.<br />

The domestic enplanements <strong>of</strong> United Airlines (including SkyWest Airlines/United Express) during Fiscal<br />

Year 2008-09 decreased by 7.1% while its international enplanements (including SkyWest Airlines/United Airlines)<br />

decreased by 11.0% compared to Fiscal Year 2007-08. During Fiscal Year 2008-09, United Airlines h<strong>and</strong>led 36.0%<br />

<strong>of</strong> the international enplaned passengers, Air Canada h<strong>and</strong>led 6.5%, Cathay Pacific Airlines h<strong>and</strong>led 5.3%,<br />

Lufthansa Airlines h<strong>and</strong>led 4.9% <strong>and</strong> British Airways h<strong>and</strong>led 4.8%. Although United Airlines (including SkyWest<br />

Airlines/United Airlines) h<strong>and</strong>led 40.6% <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Airport</strong>’s total enplanements during Fiscal Year 2008-09, audited<br />

results for Fiscal Year 2008-09 indicated that payments by United Airlines accounted for approximately 23% <strong>of</strong> the<br />

<strong>Airport</strong>’s operating revenues <strong>and</strong> approximately 20% <strong>of</strong> total revenues. See “AIRPORT’S FINANCIAL AND RELATED<br />

INFORMATION–Principal Revenue Sources.”<br />

Low Cost <strong>and</strong> Low Fare Carriers<br />

For Fiscal Year 2009-10, six airlines at the <strong>Airport</strong> <strong>of</strong>fered low-cost carrier service:<br />

� AirTran Airways<br />

� Frontier Airlines (which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on April 10, 2008 <strong>and</strong><br />

continues operations at the <strong>Airport</strong>). On October 1, 2009 Republic Airways Holdings, Inc.<br />

completed its acquisition <strong>of</strong> Frontier Airlines Holdings pursuant to an auction process in the<br />

Frontier Airlines bankruptcy case. Republic announced it will continue to operate the Frontier<br />

br<strong>and</strong> as a wholly-owned subsidiary.<br />

� jetBlue Airways<br />

� Southwest Airlines<br />

� Sun Country Airlines<br />

� Virgin America Airlines<br />

During Fiscal Year 2008-09, approximately 21.5% <strong>of</strong> total domestic enplanements at the <strong>Airport</strong> were<br />

provided by low-cost carriers, compared to 83.6% <strong>of</strong> the domestic enplanements at Oakl<strong>and</strong> International <strong>Airport</strong><br />

<strong>and</strong> 54.0% <strong>of</strong> the domestic enplanements at <strong>San</strong> Jose International <strong>Airport</strong>. During Fiscal Year 2008-09, the lowcost<br />

carriers represented an aggregate <strong>of</strong> 16.5% <strong>of</strong> total enplanements at the <strong>Airport</strong>.<br />

New Service<br />

The following is a description <strong>of</strong> new service that has or is expected to commence in Fiscal Year 2009-10.<br />

� In July 2009, AeroMexico launched five weekly non-stop seasonal flights from the <strong>Airport</strong> to<br />

Hermosillo, Mexico; <strong>and</strong> Virgin America through September 2009, added a third daily flight to<br />

Boston, Massachusetts.<br />

� Southwest Airlines announced the addition <strong>of</strong> a sixth daily flight between the <strong>Airport</strong> <strong>and</strong> Orange<br />

<strong>County</strong>, California.<br />
