After God’s visitation, some men’s hearts would entertain doubtsabout the truth of what had happened. Instead of saying, “Amen,Lord,” they would question, “Was that really God?” “Was itemotionalism?” Even after God touched them, they would denythe reality of God’s moving as they listened to their troubledheart.I suppose Jonah was one of the most successful preachers whoever lived because every man, woman, boy and girl turned tothe Lord. He was 100% successful in his ministry but 100% afailure in his personal life when he fell out with God over theissue of his reputation.Jonah complained, “I’ve prophesied Your Word for 40 days andYou haven’t fulfilled it — and You’ve made me look like a fool!”Then, God challenged Jonah, “You are more concerned aboutyour own pitiful reputation than you are about the salvation ofthe people of Nineveh.”John the Baptist experienced something similar. Until yourrevelation works in your situation, you don’t really have revelation.Believing God was preparing us for the latter rainAt a meeting one night, a young woman was still lying on thefloor at 3:00 in the morning. We thought we would just pick herup, put her in the car, run her around to someone’s house, andlock up the hall.
